Principal Dental Officer and Oral Health Advisor, Northland District Health Board, New Zealand

Neil Croucher has worked as a hospital and community dentist since qualifying at Guy’s Hospital Dental School, London in 1986. For 16 years he worked as a ‘special needs’ dentist in the south of England. After immigrating to New Zealand in 2003 he took up the role of Clinical Director of Dental Services – Northland District Health Board till 2014, following which he fulfilled the position of Clinical Director of the Auckland Region Hospital Oral Health Services until 2018.

In 2010 he was elected a Fellow of the International College of Dentists and in 2016 became a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow, in recognition of his long term commitment to improving public oral health services and the oral health of the communities they served.  He has been a NZ School and Community Dental Services Society executive in the past and has been an executive member of the Oral Health Clinical Advisory group for almost 10 years.
